I was born a long time ago in a small town on the west bank of the Mississippi river in New Orleans, and painted this view as it would look from the levee there. The background has been greatly simplified. When I was young (just after the glaciers retreated), we would go dancing on the beautiful dance floor of a riverboat like the one shown here.
